Russia’s Hydromashservice (part of the HMS Group), under an agreement with the Central Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering (part of Rosatom), said on 30 April that it had supplied a batch of condensate pumping units for unit 1 of the Rooppur NPP under construction in Bangladesh. Three AksVA 1800-170 pumping units were developed and manufactured by the Nasosenergomash enterprise (part of the HMS Group) based on vertical double-casing pumps with a nominal flow of 1765 m³/h. This is the latest line of high-performance pumps designed for pumping condensate in the steam-water networks of NPPs with a VVER-1200 reactor.

The pumps are made of modern wear-resistant materials and have an extended service life and a long turnaround time to meet regulatory technical requirements based on a full service life of NPP power units of 60 years with the possibility of a 20-year extension. In accordance with the special technical requirements of the customer, the units are manufactured to withstand tropical conditions and guarantee reliable operation at ambient temperatures up to + 50 ° C in conditions of 100% humidity.
