Spain’s state-owned nuclear fuel manufacturer Enusa Industrias Avanzadas has won a contract to supply 24 reload batches of fuel and associated services by the operators of Spain’s five Westinghouse-design pressurised water reactor units.

Enusa  will supply 11 reload batches to Asco 1&2, eight batches to Almaraz 1&2, and five batches to the single-unit Vandellos station. Energy companies Endesa, Iberdrola and Naturgy all have shares in the ownership of the five units.

Enusa will provide onsite fuel management services for the duration of the contract, including fresh and irradiated fuel management during core reload activities.
