Russia is ready to sell shares in International Uranium Enrichment Center, Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin reported during a meeting of the investment commission on 4 August 2010.
“All the necessary formalities on the Russian part have been fulfilled. We are ready to sell 10% of shares to our Ukrainian partners,” Putin said.
The head of the Russian government expressed confidence that such cooperation will increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian nuclear power and will provide an additional basis on which the countries can implement joint projects in the nuclear power industry.
Putin says that the center’s task is “to provide the non-nuclear countries with a stable access to the fuel for the nuclear power plants and at the same time to ensure compliance with the non-profit regime”.
