Bechtel has signed an agreement to provide project management consulting services to the China Nuclear Power Engineering Corporation (CNPEC), a subsidiary of the China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group (CGNPG).
Bechtel will provide CNPEC with training and education to help the organization enhance its ability to manage nuclear projects. Bechtel and CGNPG have previously worked together on the Daya Bay project, one of the first commercial nuclear plants built in China using foreign French pressurized water reactor technology.
“CNPEC has selected us to help the company improve processes and procedures to ensure its nuclear projects stay on time and on budget,” said Greg Ashley, president of Bechtel’s nuclear power business line. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to continue working with CNPEC as it expands its nuclear capabilities.”
The agreement represents the second time in recent months that Bechtel has been selected to provide consulting services in the nuclear industry in China. In April, Bechtel announced it would provide nuclear consulting services to the China Nuclear Power Engineering Company, a subsidiary of the China National Nuclear Corporation.
