Commonwealth Edison Chairman and CEO John W. Rowe does not expect to retire any more of the company’s nuclear plants during the next three years.
“We will run those plants really, really well and at an economic and competitive price, or we will shut them down. But we will run them in a first-class way and we won’t starve them for resources in the meanwhile,” Rowe said in an interview with The Chicago Tribune.
“Over the next two-three years we couldn’t shut any more down intentionally even if they weren’t economic, because in that period they’re needed for capacity for the region.
“The amount of money we’d get for them would be a pittance compared to what we could make them worth by running them well,” he said
