The two plants would be built at Paducah and Portsmouth.
DoE said that the following submitted bids were in the department’s “competitive range”:
•American Conversion Services, made up of CH2M Hill and USEC.
•Jacobs Cogema, made up of Jacobs Engineering Group and Cogema.
•Uranium Disposition Services, made up of Framatome ANP, Duratek Federal Services, and Burns & Roe Enterprises.
General Atomics was dropped from the competition, as was Foster Wheeler Environmental Conversion Services, a team of BWXT Services, Foster Wheeler Environmental, and BNFL.
A final contract is expected to be awarded within the next six months.
