Areva and Alstom have won deals to provide generation equipment for the extension of the Ling Ao nuclear power plant in China’s southern province of Guangdong. The two French engineering giants have signed contracts worth €210 million.
Areva signed a contract to furnish a command and control system for the power plant worth some €110 million while Alstom won a €100 million deal to supply turbines.
Electricité de France (EdF) has also won a contract to provide management services for the second phase of the Lingao from China’s Guangdong Nuclear Power Group.
The value of the contract was not disclosed but the deal is also thought to involved the supply of technological support for construction of the second-generation PWR.
