Plans have been floated that will see Russia’s nuclear industries consolidated into one company, which would be divided into three operational divisions.

According to local media, one of the divisions would operate the nuclear facilities, one would source and enrich uranium and the third unit would manufacture equipment. The new holding, expected to be called Rosatomprom as part of national uranium operation TVEL, may be partially privatised.

The country envisages a hugely ambitious nuclear build programme, claiming it will bring 40 new units online through 2030 at an estimated total cost of $60 billion.
