British Nuclear Group Project Services, German firm NUKEM and AtomStroyExport (ASE) and Rosatomstroy (RAS) of Russia, have formed an alliance to target nuclear clean-up opportunities in new and prospective members of the European Union.
Initially the alliance plans to secure selected projects in states eligible for funding from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), before venturing into Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union.
Paul Hamer, BNG Project Services managing director, said: “Our first joint bid will be for project management work relating to decommissioning and dismantling on the Ignalina nuclear power plant unit one in Lithuania.”
