One of China’s largest coal-fired power plant manufacturers, Shanghai Electric Group Co, is planning to invest yuan 6 billion ($769 million) in two nuclear power equipment bases in the city.

According to local media reports, the company said the investment will finance five projects, including that at Lingang New City of Nanhui District where construction has started on a crane and transport equipment plant. The crane plant will cost about yuan 720 million ($100 million) to build

A project in Minhang District will be upgraded and expanded to enhance capacity to for large castings for nuclear reactors.
