A roundtable discussion on sustainable energy held by the European Parliament’s industry committee has heard a robust defence of the nuclear sector’s future by French conservative MEP Françoise Grossetête.
“For the next 50 years we will not be able to do without nuclear power”, even though “no-one, except one or two colleagues, dares to speak this word, which has become taboo,” she said.
