The European Union (EU) Council of Ministers has authorised Slovenia to ratify the updated Paris Convention on third party liability regarding nuclear energy.
Slovenia required approval to ratify a 2004 protocol updating the convention, because it affects EU legislation on the mutual recognition of civil and commercial legal judgments. Slovenia is the only new ex-communist EU member state to have signed the original Paris convention.
