The Greek Demokritos National Center for Scientific Research has awarded a a EUR745,400 tender to Korea Power Engineering Company.
According to the tender document:
Τhe Contractor undertakes the obligation to provide scientific, engineering and technology services within the context of replacement of the primary cooling system of the “Demokritos” N.C.S.R. Research Nuclear Reactor.
The Contractor will design and supervise the installation of the new GRR-1 Core Primary Cooling System and the related control room instrumentation. The project includes the flapper, grid plate, pool penetrations, primary cooling system with its instrumentation, emergency cooling system, primary water purification system as well as the control room instrumentation related with the primary cooling system. “Demokritos” will be in charge of the project, will procure the necessary equipment, installers etc. The Contractor will advise “Demokritos” on all these tasks and will produce the necessary documentation.
