Russia’s state-run geological exploration services company, Rosgeologia, has signed three government contracts for uranium exploration.
The first contract provides for exploration work in Russia’s Darya potential uranium ore district in the Trans-Baikal Territory. The aim is to prove and localise prospective P2 category resources of 20,000t.
Under the second contract, work will focus within the south-western area of the East-Siberian Platform in Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk and the Republic of Buryatia. Geologists aim to identify priority areas for investigating hidden and weak uranium mineralisation, assess prospective P2 and P3 category resources, and make recommendations for further exploration. The customer for these contracts is the Department for Subsoil Resources Utilization for Central Siberian District (territorial district of the Federal Agency for Mineral Resources).
The third contract, signed with the Department for Subsoil Resources Utilization for Far East Federal District, provides for exploration in Nizhne-Bureiskaya Area of Amur-Zeya Depression. in in the Amur Region. The aim is to localise and prove prospective P2 category uranium resources of 10,000t and P3 category resources of 40,000t.
Rosgeologia said work on all the contracts will begin this year and be completed by the end of 2017.
