Preliminary figures from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) show US uranium concentrate production totalling 2,916,558 lbs U308 in 2016, which is 13% lower than the 3,343,207 lbs produced in 2015 and the lowest annual US production since the 2,689,178 lbs produced in 2005.
The EIA said US production of uranium concentrate in the fourth quarter 2016 was 725,947 lbs of U3O8, down 11% from the third quarter of 2016 and up 16% from the fourth quarter of 2015. During the fourth quarter of 2016, US uranium was produced at seven US uranium facilities, the same number as in the third quarter of 2016.
