Germany-based GNS Gesellschaft für Nuklear-Service mbH, an international provider of nuclear decommissioning and waste management solutions, is taking over the Aachen Institute for Nuclear Training GmbH (AiNT). AiNT also offers modular training programmes for targeted basic and advanced training in the field of nuclear technology and the associated qualification and licensing procedures.

The sale by previous owners Andrea Havenith and Professor Bruno Thomauske secures the expertise and continuation of the company at its to sites as well as 20 jobs in Stolberg near Aachen. Havenith and Thomauske said in a statement: “We are delighted to have found a strong partner in GNS for the preservation and continuation of AiNT.”

Thomauske and Havenith will step down from their positions as Managing Directors at the end of the takeover process. They will be succeeded as Managing Director of AiNT by Dr Luc Schlömer, who will initially take on this role alongside his function as Head of Decommissioning Planning at the GNS subsidiary Wissenschaftlich-Technische Ingenieurberatung GmbH in Jülich. The new management team will also include the Scientific Director of AiNT, Dr Dominik Winter.
