Niklas Wykman, Swedish Minister for Financial Markets and responsible for the financing of new nuclear power, visited Ahlberg Cameras today. Niklas was given an overview of the company’s operations and its impressive growth. He then attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Ahlberg Cameras’ new modern premises, at Braxenvägen 6 in Norrtälje, marking a milestone in the company’s ambition to lead developments in safe and sustainable nuclear technology. With this investment, Ahlberg Cameras meets a growing global demand for radiation-resistant cameras and lighting systems, a key technology for a safe future in the nuclear industry.

Growth and the need for larger premises

Johan Bäckström, CEO of Ahlberg Cameras, talks about the company’s rapid growth and the need for modern and customised premises to support this development:

“We have grown rapidly in recent years thanks to winning several large projects in CCTV surveillance and fuel inspection systems. We are currently overcrowded in our existing premises and look forward to entering the adapted premises where we will have a good and creative environment in which we can work and grow. It is important for us to be able to attract staff with a good working environment in premises that have a low environmental footprint. Therefore, it was a requirement that the building be environmentally certified according to Sweden Green Building Council,” says Johan Bäckström, CEO of Ahlberg Cameras.

The new premises will be fully adapted to Ahlberg Camera’s requirements for a flexible and optimised production flow, allowing the company to scale up its production rate to meet demand. Several larger customised systems will be able to be manufactured and tested in parallel in production, which will shorten lead times for customers.  The development department will also have more space to carry out system tests and tests that could not previously be carried out in-house. This will shorten the lead time for developing new products and system solutions.

The landlord is looking forward to the co-operation

Torngrund Group, which has been commissioned to build the new premises, shares its view on the importance of the project and how it is working to meet Ahlberg Camera’s needs:

“It is a great pleasure to build customised premises for Ahlberg Cameras. We are proud to continue to attract high-tech companies with high demands on their premises and we look forward to a continued good cooperation with Ahlberg Cameras,” says Gustav Kock, CEO of Torngrund.
