A new perimeter security system has been recently released by Senstar-Stellar.

Intelli-FIELD is a digitally processed, terrain-following, volumetric electrostatic field sensor. An intruder is detected when the electrostatic field that is created between the field and the sense wires is disturbed.

The field transducer component is comprised of 3 or 4 parallel wires (2 sense wires and 1 or 2 field generator wires) that are deployed around the boundary that is to be secured.

These wires can be installed as a freestanding fence, that is attached to an existing chain-link fence, mounted across a roof, or attached with brackets to a wall. The wires generate a terrain-following, electrostatic penetration barrier.

The predecessor to Intelli-FIELD, E-Field, was an analogue sensor that had been developed in 1976 in concert with US government laboratories, in order to be able to provide upgraded nuclear plant security.

In the 1980’s, several subsequent product upgrades were made in order to improve the signal processing. Applications of the system have since spread to military, correctional and petrochemical sites, among others.
