Nuclear engineering company Amentum has reached an agreement to merge with Jacobs’ Critical Mission Solutions (CMS) and Cyber and Intelligence (C&I) businesses. The move will create a systems integration and technology solutions major with an annual revenue of some $13bn.
Amentum brings expertise in nuclear engineering solutions, complex programme management, and solutions integration, while Jacobs bring additional engineering and science capabilities, with unique expertise in sectors such as space, cyber & intelligence, and energy. Management has already identified $50-70m of estimated net cost synergies associated with the merger.
Amentum CEO John Heller, observed: “Our combined company will deliver extensive expertise in the government’s highest priority areas of energy, space exploration, intelligence and analytics, and digital modernization.”
Amentum was recently awarded a contract by the US Army Corps of Engineers – Baltimore District to safely decommission and dismantle the SM-1A reactor facility.
