Stanislav Antipov, the head of Russia’s state-owned nuclear power generation monopoly, Rosenergoatom, was dismissed on 16 March, a spokesman said.
Sergei Novikov, speaking for the Russian government’s nuclear department, Rosatom, said Stanislav Antipov had been released from his duties by Rosatom chief Sergei Kiriyenko, who then took on Antipov as an advisor.
Novikov added that Rosenergoatom’s deputy director Sergei Obozov had been appointed temporary head of the monopoly until a new director could be appointed. Alexander Lokshin, the former director of the Smolenskaya nuclear power plant, has taken up the duties of first deputy director general.
