An unexpected visitor to Wylfa power station in Wales was the subject of a delicate rescue operation.

A baby seal which found its way into the cooling water intake was finally returned to its natural habitat with the help of station staff.

Wylfa’s Graham Roberts said: “The seal entered the intake from the Irish Sea and got caught in the drum screen along with debris such as seaweed. It stayed fairly calm and we managed to return it safely to the sea.”
