Following recalculations of flood risk at the Belleville site on the upper Loire river, Electricité de France (EdF) has proposed that it intends to construct a dike around the station. The new EdF studies have shown that the “safe” flood level was almost 1.4m higher than the level assumed in the plant’s design.
