Framatome ANP has won a EUROS25 million project to install new digital safety instrumentation and control systems at Bohunice in Slovakia. The contract was awarded by Bohunice’s owner, Slovenske Elektrarne.

Framatome ANP said the new system will be installed at units 3 and 4 both Russian-designed late-model VVER-440s in stages, and the work would be complete by 2008. As Siemens, Framatome ANP previously replaced the systems at Bohunice 1 and 2. As part of Slovakia’s accession agreements with the European Union, these two earlier-version VVER-440s are due to close in 2006 and 2008.
