Disposal of Remote Handled Waste from Mogilnik

Jadrová a vyrad’ovacia spoločnost’ a.s. (JAVYS), hereinafter referred to as “the Employer”, has received a Grant from the Bohunice International Decommissioning Support Fund (BIDSF), administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of the project C14 – “Disposal of Remote Handled Waste from Mogilnik”.

The objective of the C14 Project is to establish the necessary conditions for handling this solid historical Remote Handled (RH) waste disposal from Bohunice Nuclear Power Plant V1.

The site visit will take place on 29th of October 2009 beginning from 9.00 a.m. at NPP V1 Jaslovské Bohunice, INFOCENTRUM meeting room (entrance of administrative building). For arranging of entry permission the perspective tenderers are requested to submit the following data of their representatives who wish to participate at site visit meeting: name, date of birth, personal identification number for slovak citizens, identification card or passport No., home address, within one week before the visit’s date. Due to limited number of places at meeting room a maximum 2 persons of each tenderer will be allowed to attend the above meeting.

The scope of the delivery is to process 40 tones of RH waste, using the following steps:

– methodology and working plan,

– working procedure,

– preliminary characterization,

– sorting of waste according to activity and dose rate,

– delivery of shielded containers.

– waste removal,

– waste features characterization,

– modification of parameters (e.g. fragmentation) and marking,

– placement into shielding containers,

– workstation restoration,

– containers transportation to the Interim storage of RAW or to Bohunice Treatment Centre for the final conditioning.

The Contractor’s scope of work shall include the design, engineering, certification, dismantling works, procurement, delivery, construction, installation/erection, commissioning, testing, and trial operation of the systems as well as technical support for licensing processes. The Contractor’s scope shall further include development of documentation and support of the Employer.

The works will be performed mainly on the site of Nuclear Power Plant V1 Jaslovske Bohunice.

Procurement will be carried out in accordance with EBRD Procurement Policies and Rules with the exception of country eligibility restrictions defined within the BIDSF rules. Tendering for contracts to be financed with the proceeds of the BIDSF grant which is administered by the Bank is open to firms from all eligible countries and as at 1 st January 2009 they are: EU member states, Switzerland, and the EBRD’s Countries of Operations.

The proceeds of the grant will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Chapter of the United Nations.
