Minister of natural resources Canada (NRCan), Ralph Goodale, said: ‘Together with the existing Nuclear Safety and Control Act, the proposed legislation will ensure that the long-term management of nuclear fuel waste will be carried out in a safe, environmentally sound, comprehensive, cost effective and integrated manner.’
