US utility ComEd has selected Raytheon Engineers and Constructors to support engineering projects within its nuclear programme. It will select a second engineering firm by the end of the year.

ComEd will assign small projects, with the two engineering companies invited to compete for medium-sized contracts. Large contracts, such as the $200 million steam generator replacement project at the Braidwood NPP, will be open to competitive bidding.
