Chernobyl has been granted a licence to proceed with decommissioning. The licence — the first decommissioning licence to be issued in Ukraine — covers units 1-3, along with spent fuel storage and other facilities. It was prepared jointly by Ukraine’s nuclear regulatory committee (SNRCU) and the Chernobyl NPP enterprise.
