All the plants require modifications to the auxiliary feedwater pump systems. Blayais, Chinon and Tricastin will also require changes to their refuelling water storage tanks.
The anomaly was discovered in 2000 at the Bugey and Fessenheim plants and since that time EdF has been examining its other plants for the same fault. EdF will present a modification plan to the safety authority within two months.
