The US Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management (EM) has awarded a new task order contract to Aptim Federal Services of Baton Rouge, Louisiana to help with naval reactor clean-up. The contract comes under the Nationwide Deactivation, Decommissioning, & Removal (DD&R) programme to perform DD&R at the Kesselring Site in West Milton and Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna, New York.

Additional work may be negotiated to expand services to the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. This task order was competed amongst the nine firms that were awarded Nationwide DD&R Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity contracts. The DD&R services include demolishing excess facilities and cleanup of ancillary structures. The task order period of performance is 10 years, with an expected maximum value of approximately $630m.
