French nuclear safety authority DSIN has formally agreed to examine an application from Electricité de France (EdF) to increase discharge burnups of mixed-oxide fuel. The move marks the beginning of a review process that EdF hopes will result in approval for high-burnup MOX by late 2004 or early 2005.
