France’s Framatome has announced the launch of Framatome Bulgaria, a wholly owned subsidiary of Framatome, focused on supporting Bulgaria’s Kozloduy NPP and reinforcing its presence in Central Europe.
Framatome said the launch strengthens the cooperation between Kozloduy NPP and Framatome following a recent three-year contract for the VVER-1000 units as part of an ongoing relationship started 20 years ago.
Framatome’s services contract centres on ageing management, planned and unplanned maintenance work on certain electrical and instrumentation and control (I&C) systems, supply of spare parts and five modernisation packages for the areas of I&C and electrical engineering.
“This establishment of Framatome Bulgaria in support of our recent services contract is an important milestone in our long-term cooperation with Bulgaria and for the development of our regional activities,” said Catherine Cornand, Senior Executive Vice President of Framatome’s Installed Base Business Unit.
“Framatome will continue to develop local support services to ensure the reliable long-term operations of Kozloduy NPP is available around-the-clock for the production of safe, low carbon energy.”
