Framatome said on 6 April that it had recently signed a multimillion-dollar contract with Dominion Energy to support the long-term operation of the company’s nuclear fleet. This contract covers nuclear plant outage and maintenance work, including fleet steam generator services, refuelling services, and inspections until 2026.

“Dominion is one of our long-standing and valued customers. We are proud to offer them our team’s strong expertise and excellence in inspection and maintenance, to support the long-term operation of their reactor fleet,” said Catherine Cornand, senior executive vice president of the Installed Base Business Unit at Framatome. To support its work with Dominion, Framatome will mobilise more than 1,100 of its Virginia-based employees over the next five years and will leverage its expanded portfolio of equipment and tooling for steam generator services. Additionally, the company will provide refuelling services for the VC Summer Power Station and extend its existing contracts for refuelling services at the Millstone, North Anna, and Surry NPPs until 2024. Framatome will also provide MRP-227 examinations and 10-year in-service inspections at Surry and VC Summer to 2023.

Framatome provided steam generator services, refuelling services, MRP-227 examinations, 10-year in-service inspections, maintenance services, component repair services, and component replacements at 39 US nuclear plants in 2020. In 2021, Framatome’s US teams will support 40 nuclear plant outages.
