The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission has announced requirements to “sustain the nuclear energy industry’s heightened security readiness” (see NEI March 2002, p10 or see link below). For most plants, the announcement “formalises security programmes and practices already in place”, according to the Nuclear Energy Institute.
