The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and European Atomic Forum have signed an offical cooperation agreement.

The IAEA and Foratom have been cooperating for 30 years in the promotion of the IAEA safety standards in the field of management systems. This has been done particularly through the Foratom management system task force that has always maintained strong links with the IAEA.

The agreement was signed on 20 March 2012 by J.P. Poncelet, director general of Foratom and Alexander Bychkov, IAEA deputy director general for nuclear energy.
