Two Japanese companies will take part in the construction of the pebble bed modular reactor (PBMR) in South Africa.
Nuclear Fuel Industries will construct a factory to build the graphite/uranium fuel spheres, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries will be in charge of developing the helium- powered turbine generators.
