Any money connected with the deal where Russia blended down HEU to the USA is to be serviced by Konversbank instead of MDM bank. Some 30t of HEU worth $550 million was processed in 2000.
The move to Konversbank marks the start of redistribution of the nuclear power industry’s money. The transfer is in line with MinAtom’s plans to use Konversbank as the sector bank for all ministry enterprises. MinAtom Enterprises’ accounts will also be withdrawn from other banks that work with the sector.
