Following the January shutdown and as part of a strategy for decommissioning Bulgaria’s Kozloduy Units 1-4, the power plant has announced plans to sell equipment from Units 1 and 2.

The strategy stipulates that dismantling of equipment in Units 1 and 2 should be started by the end of the year. Plans to modify the licence and allow the equipment not related to nuclear safety to be dismantled and sold are in progress, a statement from the plant says, adding that a list has been prepared that includes the electrical equipment from Units 1 and 2, which will be dismantled after NRA modifies the licenses.

The list comprises of electrical machinery of the turbine generators, power transformers, and electric engines.
