Four local companies have won three-year contracts to supply machined and fabricated spares at BNFL, beating a field of 40 companies to the deal.
BNFL signed contracts with West Cumberland Engineering, Bedall Engineering, Leopold Grove Engineering and BNFL Main Group Workshop on 15 November. Mike Saunders, Sellafield supply manager, said: “This is the first time that BNFL has entered into a managed arrangement for this commodity area and we believe that it will provide a vehicle for suppliers to contribute to improvements in processes and value engineering”.
