Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has received an order for four reactor coolant pumps from China Nuclear Energy Industry Corporation (CNEIC).
The pumps on order will be installed in units 3 and 4 of Qinshan Phase II, owned by Nuclear Power Qinshan Joint Venture Company (NPQJVC) which will construct, operate and manage the plants.
The 650 MWe PWRs for units 3 and 4 will be constructed adjacent to the identical units 1 and 2 in Qinshan, Haiyan County of Zhejiang province, around 100km southwest of Shanghai.
The delivery of the coolant pumps, each of which has a flow rate of 24,000 m3/h and an output power of 5.2MW, is slated to begin in June 2008 and complete in February 2010. The new plants are slated to go on-stream in April 2011 and February 2012 respectively.
