Commissioning of Mochovce 1 should begin this summer according to plant officials. Pre-start testing has now reached the half-way stage. Following a further phase of tests and adjustments, lasting about three months, fuel loading will take place with the commissioning scheduled for 21 July. The general equipment supplier for the project is Skoda Prague. Siemens, Framatome and two Russian firms are also involved. The second Mochovce unit is to start up next year.
