Areva opens second Spanish site

Areva NP Services Spain has opened its second Spanish site, near Tarragona, Spain. The 2,600 sq m facility houses workshops and offices for 25 employees.

Since 2004, Areva NP Services Spain is a 100% subsidiary of Areva NP. The Spanish company also has a facility in Zaragoza. The company specialises in sludge lancing, reactor servicing and maintenance of valves, pumps and motors. It also provides products and services for PWRs and BWRs.

"Areva strongly trusts in the Spanish market and this investment is a good example," said Areva senior executive vice president of services sector Christian Hillrichs. "We are a global company with [a] local industrial presence to ensure long-term personalised customer services for all existing Spanish nuclear power plants."
