Concern over Russia's nuclear companies

30 November 2001

Russian State Duma deputy Victor Ilyukhin has sent a letter to FSB (former KGB) Head Nikolay Patrushev, asking him to pay special attention to attempts by large financial and industrial groups to gain control of nuclear companies by "privatising their management". Ilyukhin believes that Rosenergoatom and Tekhsnabexport are currently under threat from the Alfa financial group while the MDM-group has already established control over Konversbank.
