Earth-shaking contract

1 October 2003

St Louis-based Syscom Instruments is to supply seismic instrumentation for Pacific Gas & Electric's Diablo Canyon plant in California. Six Regulatory Guide seismic stations and 12 supplemental stations will be installed by the end of 2003.

The contract is Syscom's eighth nuclear contract within the past 18 months. Its seismic systems have also been installed at three plants in Spain, one in Germany and two in India. A system was installed at Darlington in Canada earlier this year.
