Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Korea Electric Power Corporation. The deal includes a joint study into the licensibility and constructability of the Korean-designed APR-1400.
The MoU covers bilateral cooperation in the field of nuclear power through technical exchange of data, experience, visits and joint work. It covers areas of nuclear power project development, operation and maintenance, nuclear fuel, manufacture and supply of nuclear components as well as the previously mentioned joint study into the APR-1400.
The MoU was signed in August by S.A Bhardwaj, technical director for NPCIL and Sung Min Cho director general of KEPCO. NPCIL has signed MoU with a number of other nuclear companies this year including Areva, Westinghouse and General Electric Hitachi.
