Korean contractors get $5.6 billion UAE construction contract

Korean Electric Power Company (KEPCO) has awarded Korean firms Hyundai Engineering and Construction and Samsung C&T a $5.6 billion construction contract for the four APR-1400 reactors it is planning to build in the UAE, according to local newspaper Gulf News. It said that the two firms won a 55%/45% share of the contract.

The first plant is due to come online in 2017 and the last by May 2020.
