The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission has renewed the operating licences of the Point Beach units 1 and 2 for an additional 20 years.
The Point Beach plant, located in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, will now see unit 1 licenced to October 2030, while unit 2’s licence is extended to March 2033.
The review concluded there were no environmental impacts or safety concerns that would preclude renewal of the licences.
