Framatome ANP has teamed up with Exelon to perform outage services at Three Mile Island unit 1 in Pennsylvania.
The alliance agreement covers outages in 18-month cycles scheduled for late 2003, early 2005, and late 2006 and is renewable. The work, which can also be applied to other AmerGen/Exelon sites, includes steam generator inspection and repair, refuelling services and outage support.
There will be a joint advisory board of senior managers to define strategic programme objectives, and a joint business team to review the outages and come up with actions and programmes that would improve maintenance and operation at the plant.
