Water treatment at Hanford

1 January 2003

Fluor Hanford has awarded Avantech a contract to build a liquid waste handling system for the 324 building deactivation project at the Hanford site in Richland, Washington.

Under the Fluor Hanford contract, Avantech will design, fabricate, test, and deliver a custom evaporator to handle, evaporate, and process the radiologically contaminated wastewater generated from the decontamination and deactivation of the 300 Area Hotcell Facilities, as well as other highly radioactive areas within the 324 building. This system will be fully automated to allow complete monitoring, manipulation, and control from a remote location.
