Rovno’s unit 4 was connected to the grid just before 11pm on 10 October. The unit is part of the K2R4 plan to modernise both it, and Khmelnitsky 2 which was reconnected in August of this year. The two VVER-1000s are seen as compensating Ukraine for lost generation following the Chernobyl disaster.
