Russia and Nigeria sign MoU for cooperation

Researchers in the US have created a blood test to detect chronic lung transplant rejection, which is severe and irreversible, even in the absence of outward signs.

Russia’s state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority envisaging bilateral cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Rosatom said that the MoU could help Nigeria to develop the infrastructure to build and operate nuclear power plants and research reactors. It will also assist with nuclear research, training, the production and use of radioisotopes, and could lead to joint prospecting and development of uranium deposits.

The parties will now draft an inter-governmental agreement for cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy.
